MSS Prize Finalists Announced!

Regions top emerging talent to perform at Moorfields!

Since May this year, emerging musicians from across Merseyside have been uploading entries to the Merseyrail Sound Station Prize. The prize final – The Merseyrail Sound Station Festival, takes place at Moorfields Station on Saturday 19th November,  and will feature the finalists who will battle it out for the Sound Station Prize.

The 10 finalists who will compete to win a year of expert industry mentoring, studio recording time and free travel courtesy of Merseyrail have being picked from a strong field of entries. The following finalists will perform three tracks each at the free event which takes place from 1pm:

GAZELLE – THE JJOHNS

A LOVELY WAR – DELIAH – FAY MOORE

STILLIA – ASTLES – JO MARY

KATIE MAC – CAVE PARTY

Last year’s prize went to Katy Alex who went on to record a session for the Merseyrail Sound Station podcast, has played several of the regions top festivals and has released a number of critically acclaimed singles with her group Halem.

Katy will be part of this years judging panel alongside representatives from Arts Council England, GetIntoThis blog, Bido Lito!, Sentric Music Publishing and more.

This years winner will be announced at a presentation event at new music Hus on Tithebarn Street before appearing on BBC Radio Merseyside.
