It’s time to warm up your vocal chords and find your friend with the steadiest camera hand – the Merseyrail Sound Station Prize is back! We are hosting a special Festival Day across three stations on Saturday 21st May featuring performances LIMF Academy artists as well as your chance to get your own entry uploaded to the Merseyrail Sound Station Facebook page.
Taking place at Southport, Liverpool Central and Hoylake the first Merseyrail Sound Station Festival day gives artists the first chance to have their entries recorded by Sound Station staffers.
LIMF Academy artists ASTLES and KATIE MAC will joined by a raft of other artist as Sound Station travel from Southport to Liverpool Central and finishes at Liverpool Central for it’s first Festival Day.
One successful entrant will also get their song played on the June edition of the Merseyrail Sound Station podcast.
The Merseyrail Sound Station Prize opens for entries on Saturday 21st May with a special Festival Day. Taking place at Southport, Liverpool Central and Hoylake stations, the event will feature unplugged performances from LIMF Academy artists as well as providing musicians the chance to record the first entries to the 2016 competition. Sound Station staff will be on hand at the following times to record song performances, all you have to do is send us a message on Facebook to book your slot.

A track from one artist will be picked to be played on the June edition of the Merseyrail Sound Station Podcast.
If you don’t manage to book a slot, don’t worry you can record an entry with a friend at any point!
Entering the Merseyrail Sound Station Prize is easy and you can do it any time. All you have to do is go to one of the performance locations which are situated across eight Merseyrail Stations and record an original track on your smartphone. Upload that track to the Merseyrail Sound Station Facebook page and that’s your entry. Ten artists will be chosen to perform at the festival in November with one winner picked by a panel of judges.
There will also be other opportunities to record tracks with Sound Station staff at various events over the summer as well as another festival day in October when the Merseyrail Sound Station Prize closes.
